How to Create a new Bedroom Photography Program

If you have not had much studio experience and want to photograph a boudoir session then you may try a bedroom location.

In winter it will be the ideal location, since the model or bride will feel more at ease in a more warm and relaxed surroundings.

This straightforward setup for any smaller surrounding will work for your boudoir shoot and also you won’t require a lot of equipment to achieve success. So during a small bedroom you can get some amazing shots simply by following my hints and tips.

Initial thing you need is a DSLR camera and I am not implying that you couldn’t shoot with any other type of camera it’s only which i shoot with two camera’s, a Nikon D700 and D300s and obtain some amazing results.

Now the best way to position your devices are to have the model positioned towards the top end of the bed. Experiment with some test shots while you’re establishing.

The flash positioned at the bottom corner on the left with the white umbrella attached and setup. Elevate the umbrella so it is positioned just higher than the model. This will make each of the folds in the sheets on the bed look soft and dimensional.

Set up you got it on a tripod tethered to your laptop and a release cable connected to the camera. I normally set the digital camera to 200 sec at F2.8 for any shallow depth of field, I then use ISO 100 and you will try dialing the white good balance to 10,000 when the flash is delivering a very bluish quality light. My aim always is to set a very warm looking scene.

You could set a second speed light for a more punchy look and also this might be setup to the top left of one’s model, set the flash to 43m 1/32.

Now a little trick that can be used is to position this second flash. Put the flash either inside or behind a bedside lamp then when it fires with the lampshade it can be affecting your image. This can offer a very warm glow as though the lamp is switched on. This system will give some punchy lighting to your subject. ?A simply tip but very effective.

Get a model to try out different positions she will probably be comfortable with. The key is to obtain the model relaxed so she could be herself and you then can get some nice images.
