One of the first things you have to deal with as the owner of a new puppy is how to stop puppy from biting and nipping. The puppy is not being malicious, far from it, this is normal behaviour for a new dog, however there is danger that if left unchecked the puppy could become a liability when it grows. thankfully it is comparatively easy to stop puppy biting problems very quickly and without a lot of effort. Puppies bite for a reason, so realising why they do it is the first step to overcoming the problem.

Puppies bite naturally for many reasons and it is important for the dog owner to understand and recognise each of them.
The puppy is playing.

To be the boss.
Overstimulation.

**Dealing With Puppy Biting**
The advice and tips that follow are all positive ways to stop your puppy biting, of course, success will only happen if they are applied consistently. All the family need to be aware of the approach being taken to control the puppy nipping, including kids, there should be no time that the rules don’t apply. A bright dog will learn to stop after only a few lessons but some may take a little longer.
The natural technique.
If bitten we need to let the puppy know it is not acceptable, just like another dog we let out a loud indication of pain and immediately suspend play and eye contact, puppy instinctively knows what has happened and will be saddened and will want to gain favour again. When puppy knows you should either continue the play and repeat the process every time puppy bites, if everyone apples this technique the puppy will stop biting in record time to every ones benefit.
1. Let puppies socialize.
2. Have chewable toys that belong to your puppy.
